When I was a child, I spent time every day with my great-grandfather, who practiced traditional Chinese medicine. My great-grandfather always put his whole heart into patients’ well-being. When he was 90 years old, a patient’s husband knocked at his door at midnight and asked him to help his wife who was having severe abdominal pain. Even though it was cold and dark outside and he was tired from working all day, my great-grandfather got dressed and went to help her without any hesitation. The most important thing I learned from him was how to put your heart into the care of your patients. When I grew up, I chose to enter medical school to continue my family mission of saving lives, graduating with high honors.
Since graduation, I have been serving at Sichuan State People’s Hospital & Sichuan State Academy of Medical Science for 12 years at one of China's top ranked neurology centers. I was able to integrate acupuncture and bio-medicine to treat a large number of stroke patients as well as many other neurological patients. As an acupuncturist and physician, I have been able to effectively treat patients with diverse diseases in 22 different hospital departments such as neurological, emergency room (ER),
intensive care unit (ICU), surgical floors, orthopedic, cardiac, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, pulmonary, endocrine and internal medicine departments, etc.
As a professor at the Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin Graduate School (AOMA) and licensed acupuncturist in Texas, I have given lectures and supervised numerous medical students and interns for over 13 years.
As a MPH graduate student in Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (since March 13, 2018), it is my great honor and responsibility to learn more for my patients.
